Since 2013, we are working at the project "Vocabolar dl Ladin Leterar" (VLL), a fully internet-accessible and fully text-based Ladin dictionary. The purpose of this dictionary is to document and describe the lexicon of all Dolomitic Ladin varieties from the beginning to the present day in the lexicographic most exhaustive way, starting from the words used in Ladin literature. With the necessary distinctions, the aim is therefore to create also for Dolomitic Ladin lexicography a reference work comparable to the "Vocabolario Friuliano" of G. Faggin for Friuli and the "Dicziunari Rumantsch Grischun" for Grisons.
Volume I of VLL, dedicated to the lexicon in Ladin texts drawn up until 1879, is in press and will be published in fall 2019: Videsott, Paul: Vocabolar dl ladin leterar / Vocabolario del ladino letterario / Wörterbuch des literarischen Ladinischen. Vol. 1: Lessich documenté fin al 1879 / Lessico documentato fino al 1879 / Bis 1879 belegter Wortschatz. Redazion / Redazione / Redaktion: Paul Videsott (redazion finala / redazione finale / Endredaktion), Donatella Dellagiacoma (A, B, C, D, E, G), Isabella Marchione (F, I, J, L, M, N), Nadia Chiocchetti (H, R, S), Giovanni Mischí (O, P, T, U), Jasmine Annette Dorigo (V, Y, Z), Otto Gsell (revijion dles etimologies / revisione delle etimologie / Revision der Etymologien). Bozen: Bozen-Bolzano University Press (2019) [Scripta Ladina Brixinensia, 5], ISBN 978-88-6046-168-1
Volume II, the continuation of VLL until 1945, is under review.
In this third project-tranche, we wish to elaborate the third volume, dedicated to the period 1946-1975. This section will be based on more than 1.900 Ladin literary texts and will produce ca. 2.300 new entries for the VLL.
